Solar and backup power for your home
Keep the lights, fridge and Wi-Fi on through power cuts and cut your monthly bill. Hybrid systems from 5 to 30 kW, sized to how your household actually uses power.

See a solar home through a full day
Drag the sun across the sky, change the weather and switch on power cuts. Tap any part of the system to see what it does.
This day, hour by hour
Example system: 14 × 580 W panels (8.1 kWp), 8 kW hybrid inverter, lithium battery, typical Gauteng home using about 26 kWh a day. Power cut times are examples. No export to the grid.
The order of priority
How the inverter decides where power comes from
Solar runs the home
Whatever the panels produce goes to your appliances first. It's the cheapest energy you'll use.
Surplus charges the battery
Midday surplus fills the battery for the evening, when use peaks and the sun is gone.
Stored solar after dark
The battery runs the home overnight but keeps a reserve so it's ready if the grid goes down.
The grid fills the gaps
The grid only supplies what's left. During a power cut the inverter disconnects from the grid and keeps you running.

A clear day on this system
Indicative only. Homes use standard 5, 8, 12, 16, 20 or 30 kW hybrid inverters. Assumes about 4.4 kWh per kWp per day (typical for Gauteng), 580 W panels, no export to the grid, and a 12% allowance for cloudy days and winter. Savings exclude fixed monthly charges. Final sizing follows a site assessment and load profile.
